Cold, winter days

What is it about cold weather that makes us just want to bundle up and lay around the house? When I was much younger I didn't mind the cold. I've become less hardier as I've aged. Now if it would snow a few inches and stay sunny, I'd be more amenable to heading out for a bit.

When it's cold, or cold & snowy, I bake or make soups like chili, ham & bean, etc. Made chili last night for today's dinner, and I'll probably make a pot of ham and bean soup tonight. Somehow it just makes me feel warmer!

I'm a cold weather soup maker, too. I mean, I make soup all year round but something about terrible cold weather ramps it up.

Yeah grilling those T bones tonight was a little chilly.....grill stayed at 550 though.

I had a can of soup last night. I have been wanting Beef Stew and Chicken Tortilla soup. My crockpot and all my cooking stuff is packed up. :/

In the past week or so, we have cooked both a ham and a turkey. Leftovers included ham and split pea soup and turkey pot pies plus I froze enough stock to make four pots of soup in the future.
Darn, I feel hungry now.

I made potato corned beef chowder and heavy meat spaghetti sauce. That should make us happy for a few days.
