On Saturday, May 25, 2019, at 10:00 p.m., Troopers from the Maryland State Police, College Park Barrack assisted by the Hyattsville City Police department conducted a Sobriety Checkpoint on southbound Route One (Baltimore Ave.) at Ammendale Road, Beltsville, Prince George’s County, Maryland. The checkpoint was completed at 1:00 a.m. for a duration of 3 hours. During this operation, a total of 625 vehicles passed through the checkpoint. Two individuals were directed to the side of the road for further testing, neither of those individuals was arrested for driving under the influence. One individual was arrested on a warrant for failure to appear, one individual was issued a civil citation for possession of marijuana in an amount less than 10 grams.
