^that...I am tired of the conservatives talking about the red wave like its a foregone conclusion. I want to hear what they are gonna do about the economy, energy..etc...and that idiot in the WH.,,But, I doubt anything will get better due to the current WH inhabitants and the egotistical nature of politicians of both parties.
It's a foregone conclusion that the R's are going to shoot themselves in the foot multiple times before the elections, their only savior is that the D's will also.

Major Poll Shows Liz Cheney Going Down

The poll also showed that 27 percent approved of Cheney's job performance, while 66 percent disapproved and 7 percent were unsure.

Respondents were also asked other questions about Cheney's role as a congresswoman and how that affected her doing her job or if that made them more likely to vote for her.

For instance, 64 percent disapprove of "Liz Cheney's decision to serve on the Jan. 6 committee," and 54 percent said it made them less likely to vote for her. When asked if "Liz Cheney's opposition to Trump affected her ability to deal with the important Wyoming issues," 61 percent said it did.

The write-up from Victoria Eavis also includes comments from Wyoming voters who were polled:

Cheney critics complain that she rarely visits, with many of them calling her a “RINO” (Republican in name only) as they air their grievances. Voters also called her a “carpetbagger,” an insult she’s been hit with since she moved to the state in 2012, a year before her unsuccessful bid for U.S. Senate.
“Liz Cheney betrayed President Trump,” said Mark Hladik, who’s lived in Wyoming for 42 years. “Ninety-nine point nine percent pure RINO.”
Hladik is a Trump backer, but said the former president’s endorsement of Hageman didn’t influence his choice.
Travis Van Hecke, a Casper City Council candidate, thinks “it’s time for someone different,” adding that he would’ve voted for almost anyone who ran against Cheney.
“This race is more about Liz Cheney than it is about Donald Trump,” Coker said. “Anybody who’s credible, who ran to the right of Liz Cheney would probably win this race — with or without Donald Trump.”
Many of those interviewed, including Hladik and Van Hecke, voted for the congresswoman in the past, including as recently as 2020. But that past support no longer matters.
“Once a politician gets to a certain point, there’s a point of no return,” Coker said.

There are some people that I dislike.
But I never disliked someone so badly that I would screw myself to get back at them.
Liz Cheney's hatred for Trump has destroyed her.
Not very smart.

🔥 It’s come to this: The Economist’s newest issue bears an alarming cover screaming, “Wake up, Democrats!” Inside, the main article’s headline insists, “The Democrats Need to Wake Up and Stop Pandering to Their Extremes.”

What? STOP pandering to the extremes? It’s more likely Joe Biden will solve the Birch and Swinnerton-Dyer conjecture before he has breakfast this morning at around 11:30.

Early in the article, the marxist rag slyly praises itself: “This newspaper does not usually hand out advice to political parties, but…” Haha, we get it, Economist. You’re not biased. Not usually. But you just can’t stop yourself, this time.

The article begins noting that NOBODY wants approval ratings like Joe Biden’s approval ratings, which it calls “the lowest approval rating of any incumbent since the 1950s.” In other words, at this point Biden has beaten Jimmy Carter in the race for most worst. He’s competing with Nixon now.

Now think about this for a second: Joe was the democrats’ BEST candidate in 2020. Kind of makes the Economist’s point, doesn’t it?

Anyway, the Economist explained that America’s democracy is sick. Sick, like it has a bad case of covid. Democracy is so sick it’s practically on the ventilator now, according to the magazine. So the Economist wants democrats to cut it with all the kooky talk. People might get the wrong idea:

Fringe and sometimes dotty ideas have crept into Democratic rhetoric, peaking in the feverish summer of 2020 with a movement to ‘defund the police’, abolish immigration enforcement, shun capitalism, relabel women as birthing people and inject ‘anti-racism’ into the classroom… Republican attacks on Democrats as out-of-touch socialists ring true to many voters in the centre.

That is 100% accurate. Now take a look at the Economist’s prescription for curing America’s democracy and saving the soul of the nation:

Moving towards the centre ground would not just be a shrewd political tactic, it could also be the beginning of a cure for American democracy… Standing up to the ideologues of the left will require grit, but if Mr Biden truly wants to save the soul of the nation he will have to start with the soul of his own party.

In other words, Democrats have gotten SO kooky that it appalls even the Economist. To be honest, most C&Cers would agree that leftwing radicalism is what’s making America sick, at least in part. But what’s surprising is that the Economist agrees with us — after all, it suggests dems should move toward the center to cure democracy?

What the Economist is really saying is that the DEMOCRAT PARTY is sick, soul sick, infected with radical leftwing ideology, and that is making democracy sick too. Obviously the Economist won’t convince the gerontocrats running the party — Biden chief among them — that they should change ANYTHING. The Economist knows this, it was firing a warning shot, intended to wake up its center-left readers.

I’m surprised they didn’t also weave a suggestion for a pint or two in there somewhere.

Vulnerable House Democrat says she ‘might have to school’ rural Trump voters to win their support

"Carbon County has many attributes, but it is a county that – although it was once an Obama county – it since has become a Trump county," she said. "I’m not quite sure what was in their heads because the people of Carbon County are exactly the kind of people who should not be voting for a Donald Trump, but I guess I might have to school them on that a little bit."

[clip]

The congresswoman and attorney of over three decades raised eyebrows earlier this month after she compared the Supreme Court’s ruling allowing prayer back in public schools to the Taliban.

"It’s scary. This is what happens in theocracies," she said during a July 6 radio interview. "This is what happens in countries that we can’t imagine living in or being a part of – where the religion – you know, think about the Taliban."

Man Tries to Stab Lee Zeldin During Campaign Event

According to local reports, Zeldin was giving a speech about bail reform at the "Unite to Fire Hochul" bus tour stop when a man went on stage, began yelling, “wrestled with him a bit, and pulled a blade out.”

Joe Chenelly, a Marine combat veteran and national executive director of AMVETS, tackled the man, along with others at the event.

Zeldin was uninjured and returned to the stage to finish his speech.

WHEC reports that the suspect said something like, OK, you're done" before attacking Zeldin, witnesses said.

John Locke had plenty to say about the role of property....as well as assault & thievery. He referred to it as a "State of War"--in that ONLY legal presence is the best institution to handle the violation. In his argument...he actually considered what it would look like in the absence of legal institutions.....that the victim has been reduced to a state of slavery when unable to defend self & property.

THAT is our current state Mr Locke....we have an absence of Legal protection to self & property.
His sadly considered alternative to this absence? Kill the attacker.

Dixon, who leads the pack of Republicans running for governor, is a conservative media personality, manufacturing businesswoman and mother. Dixon told the DCNF that Whitmer has not listened to the needs of the people.

“She’s been nonresponsive. She’s actually been vindictive,” Dixon said. “She’s gone after people, businesses and even parents who have questioned her responses to the pandemic.”

Dixon said her message resonates with a state struggling to rebound from COVID-19 lockdowns.

“I started my campaign after watching the effects of the policies of Gov. Gretchen Whitmer during the pandemic and being a mom, just seeing what the other parents were going through and the battles that parents were going through just to have their kids be able to attend school in person,” Dixon said.

During the height of the pandemic in April 2020, Whitmer signed one of the country’s most intensive stay-at-home orders, essentially banning people from gathering and traveling between properties except for “essential” services. Whitmer’s COVID-19 policies were challenged in court and eventually declared unconstitutional by the Michigan Supreme Court.

Prepare for That Red Wave: the Latest Numbers Say It's Coming and It's Big

Prepare for the incoming red wave, because we just got more signs that, if the numbers hold, it’s going to be big.

I wrote a week ago about the Fox poll that had the Republicans up by three points in the generic ballot. According to the Fox News models, that advantage would translate to a GOP win, with a gain of 23 seats.

Now, other polls are coming in even higher than that.

First, we have the Trafalgar Group poll on the generic Congressional ballot. That has the Republicans up by more than eight points among likely voters, Republicans 48.3 percent to Democrats 40.2.

The only important numbers to focus on are those for the Independents. They are "squishy". If by miracle gas prices or inflation starts dropping, come Nov they will run back to the Dems.

‘Hulu Has No Right’

The Washington Post reported Monday that the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, and Democratic Governors Association attempted to purchase joint ads on core issues like abortion, gun control, and the January 6 investigation, to air on several platforms, including Hulu. While the ads aired in other places, Hulu never ran the ads, prompting outrage from Democratic leaders.

The executive directors of the three Democratic campaign arms blasted the decision, accusing the streaming platform of “censorship” and covering for so-called “MAGA Republicans.”

“Hulu’s censorship of the truth is outrageous, offensive, and another step down a dangerous path for our country,” the DSCC’s Christie Roberts, DCCC’s Tim Persico, and DGA’s Noam Lee fumed in a joint statement provided to the Washington Post on Monday. “Voters have the right to know the facts about MAGA Republicans’ agenda on issues like abortion — and Hulu is doing a huge disservice to the American people by blocking voters from learning the truth about the GOP record or denying these issues from even being discussed.”

Unlike broadcast TV stations, which are bound by the Communications Act of 1934 to give equal access to politicians, digital platforms are not bound by the law.

According to The Post, an anonymous source “familiar with Hulu’s policies” said that, while the company does not publicly disclose its ad guidelines, Hulu prohibits ads that take a position on a controversial issue. The ads themselves are reviewed on a case-by-case basis; the advertising team occasionally sends recommendations for edits back to the advertisers. The source also said that the issues themselves were not the reason the ads were rejected. “We do accept candidate ads that reference those topics,” the source said about abortion and gun violence in particular. “It needs to be in context.”
