My daughter needs to hand in two type written pages. Sounds like no big deal except that I know nothing about computers. We use ours for email and internet, that is about it. Oh and for asking dip sh*t questions on the forums! So,how do I do this? Do I need some special thing to load into the computer. At this point I figured all I could do was tell her to type it like a long email in that format, and then just print it and cut off the email portion at the top. I know this seems kinda dumb but I just don't know anything about any of this stuff! Any suggestions, aside from a ride on the short bus?

If you have Win XP, got to Start/Programs/Accessories, and you can use either NotePad or wordPad.

Unless you have MS Office, Word Perfect, or a similar app installed the above is the way to go.

I think most systems come with Microsoft Works in the least. That would be perfect.

Right click on your desktop. You should see a menu, click "new" and you'll get another menu. Click "Microsoft word document" or if that isn't there click "text document". You can type in there and don't forget to save it!

I love how we all have our own way of getting around on a PC...:lmao: there has to be at least 5 ways to do the same task!

You could also just post it to this thread and just print it out :lmao:

When I do that, there is nothing like that there. All it has is a bunch of old pictures, etc. under Documents. No WordPad or anything. Dammit.
