Log onto Mdshooters forum, plenty of threads by the guys who were instrumental in changing MD's archaic license process.

rather than get totally frustrated by the bureaucracy, just find Steve Piazza, take his course and bingo.
I'm not getting a concealed carry permit; it's a friend of mine. There's a space on the application that will not permit you to enter the PCN number. I'm fairly certain he would prefer to do it the way he's doing it.

Submitted mine on 7/6, got an email stating it application was accepted on 7/12 and that I would get notified when a background investigator was assigned. No notice as of this time. I did get a letter in the mail that stated a background check was performed and no criminal history was found.

Still waiting.

In Indiana, at worst 2 weeks from filing to permit in hand. Lifetime permit free and online except digital Prints, maybe 10 bucks.

Florida was a easy. One stop shop at tax collector office, application, fingerprints and photo. Received permit in mail a week later here in Maryland. Granted this is I am from Florida and happened to be down there visiting.

I went through the process last fall. There are plenty of Youtube videos about the MD application process.
It was easy enough to understand; just frustrating with the one block. He signed out and signed back in again and for some reason that fixed the issue.

If I may ...
For your consideration ...

Now in Florida, as of July 1st, no permit is need at all to carry concealed, for residents and visitors alike. Also known as Constitutional carry. There, it comes down to individual personal responsibility. As it should be.

We have Constitutial Carry in Indiana, but without the proper reciprocity and license or permit there are loads of states I can't carry in without one or two permits or license.
If one from Florida uses Constitutional Carry while home, leave your gun at home to vacation in SC.
Have a Florida Permit, carry handguns in SC with no worries.

Mine took about 60 days before I was approved then another 10 days to get the physical permit card. So you should be getting close.

I thought it was resiprosity with some???
And only handguns if I recall.
36 states, some with restrictions. Its a decent permit to have. Getting my Md soon..all my classes were taken too long ago so I have to accumulate the hours all over again. Not a bad thing..every time I take a class at FBS I benefit from it. Steve and Cindy are aces.

Power with Control
Between my MD and PA permits, I can carry in 34 states.

Damn, I hadnt done that math, thanks. Dont suppose you have handy list. I got my PA since I routinely travel to just north of Philly.
Thought about taking my gun on my last trip to Jax, decided no to. Was really missing it when I left the rental Tesla supercharging and decided to get a bite from the BK around the corner. Was aware of a guy walking about 50 feet in front of me to the BK parking lot. As he was leaning into the passenger of his crap filled Ranger, I noticed that is was the only car in the BK lot. It was 5pm. Any BK with no cars at 5pm, isnt one you want to ge a bite from, so I pulled up short.

He leans back out of the car and turns towards me pretty fast "Whacha followin me fer" I backed a step and said "I wasnt following you, I was going to BK", "Whydja stop then?", he had that jumpy vibe that sets your radar off....... I continued backing while telling him about the lack of cars in the lot. I did have my knife, but I would certainly felt better if I were carrying.

Next time I go to FL, I'm carrying.
