Concrete Question

I have a sidewalk that is not level, its about 30 years old. I really want to level it out but not dig it up and pour a new one. I was wondering how thin can i pour new concrete over it and not have it crack and look like crap?

I was thinking an inch thick in the thinnest area would work as far as function goes, but will it hold up?

Any advice?

My experience... Use a maul to chip up the existing concrete, which will be your base, then pour the new concrete on top, a bit of extra water, so, that it's not as thick as bag details suggest, cover it from the elements and wait for it set, should last forever. Mine is now 10 years old.

One of the home shows I went to had a vendor that could re-level the existing concrete without damaging it. They put a probe under the concrete and pump a wet mix in and "float" it to re-level it. It was a few years ago, and I don't have names. There is a home show this weekend at the Dulles Center (thread around here somewhere..), maybe they will be there.

There's at least one going to be there, A1 Concrete Leveling.
