Congested at Night

I don't have any allergies and RARELY even get a cold but every night when I lay down my head stops up on whatever side I'm laying on. It's not just in bed or at night I guess either. If I lay down on the couch on either side that side gets all stopped up and I have to flip sides. What's wrong with me? :cds:

Got one, a good one at that. Still stopped up.

have you tried taking a decongestant? and just because you've never had problems with allergies before, doesn't mean you aren't developing them now. I never had food allergies, until a banana damn near killed me one day when I had a full blown anaphaxis reaction to it.

Get a copy of the Odd Couple. Wait for the scene with Jack Lemmon doing his "FFMAH!" routine.

That'll give you an idea how to get around the problem.

I typically take a Benadryl or two a night to help me sleep because I don't sleep as well the past few months, giggle. I'll have to try an actual decongestant again. I never took them at night cause they made me :jameo:. I don't get tired on them, I get wound up.

I will be soooo mad if I've got allergies. :tantrum

Try taking Sudafed PE (phenylephrine HCI 10mg). This does not contain the drugs (psudonephrine sp)that make you shakey or wound up. This is not behind the counter in CVS, it's located in the cold isle.

If it only seems to be happening at night, you might have developed an allergy to the laundry soap/dryer sheets or whatever you use, or the pillows themselves. Switch soaps, try a allergy-resistant pillow.

We make our own laundry detergent. :diva: It happens when I lay down on the couch too and the couch is leather. It's been going on for a while and is worse in the winter. It's probably a dust allergy or something. We have oil heat and baseboards so there's not a ton of air cirulation. It's real life karma for laughing at my whole family who all suffer from both seasonal and year round indoor allergies telling them that I had to have been adopted because I had superior genes. :bawl: See what happens when you're obnoxious! :lmao:
