Connection Question

Ok so I am wondering if there is a way to do something.

Lets say I have Laptop A with a broadband card for the internet connection. I have Laptop B with nothing. Is there a way to set up a network so that I could plug in a LAN cable between laptop A and B so they can both share the same connection?

Now part two of this- Lets say Laptop B is a PS3, can I plug my PS3 into a laptop with a connection to get online?

I have a verizon wireless USB modem that runs my
Desktop computer with xp. My teenage son decided he wanted it to hook to his x box. We hooked up the network cables from the desktop to the x box and just used the windows ICS configuration
(did some tweaking on configurations).
Both work great.

sounds like you need to go the store and buy a router. You might as well get a wireless one like a linksys that has both wireless and hard-wired ports. PS3's run off of wireless connections also...

I have a Linksys router that takes a Sprint PCMCIA EVDO Revision A card. It has 4 ports and an Internet port as well. Yes, I was able to play WarHawk on the PS network with 1.5 mbps up and 256kbps down.

Answer = Yes

You do need a crossover cable though. Maybe not with the PS3, I know that xbox 360's don't need a crossover cable. ICS was mentioned, you could also go to Network Connections, select both connections and hit 'Bridge Connections'

Start> Control Panel> Network Connections--You should see your 2 connections here. Just highlight both of them, right click, and Bridge Connections. Then you need a crossover cable from staples or bestbuy or radioshack maybe

Is that the same as the LAN cable the games come with?

Possibly-- one way to tell is to hold up the ends, and look at the colors of the wires in the connectors. If they are in the same order, its a regular cable, if they are different--it's probably a crossover.
