We signed a contract for installation and gave contractor money to purchase boat lift. Meanwhile contractor gave us the around about delivery and installation until last week and a half when he no longer answers our calls. Last week we were able to reach the distributor. According to distributor, contractor ordered boat lift but told him to hold the funds and not ship boat lift. Distributor informed us that the boat lift has been fabricated and was awaiting for the contractor to release funds. Yesterday distrbutor called to tell us that boat lift was shipped and gave us tracking number. Unfortunately the delivery is sent to contractor not us. any advice? What would you do?

Does this contractor have a business address? Can you not show up at his door? Hoping you have some sort of receipt for payment. Who is this knucklehead as people who do business that way do not need to have others get his crappy business tactics used on them?

I appreciate your advice. We have considered being at his place for the delivery, but then what? I do not think that the lifts will fit in our truck. The freight company told us to call them on Monday to get an idea of their delivery schedule. The guy works out of his house. We have the contract that shows receipt of the check. Our down payment equals the cost of the lifts.

I have used almost all the restraint I can muster not to post his name. While I agree that no one should do business this way, I am not comfortable posting his name and business. I wiould be willing to discuss the experience privately, however. Thanks

I give it about another week till you get fed up & put some names out here.

Bad spot to be in. Not only have you had to be patient with them about delivery, but now you have to trust the same jackass to install correctly. Good luck.
