The product is called Milkscreen. It's a sort of breast milk breathalyzer for nursing moms who might have an occasional ####tail or glass of wine.
...............
The mother who came up with the idea said nursing moms need this because they like to have an occasional drink, and they don't want to pass alcohol on to their baby.
Women who are breast feeding shouldn't be drinking alcohol at all. :bonk:

But I wonder if I could get drunk using this method. Anyone care to help me experiment?

My doctor encouraged me to have a glass of wine while I was nursing to promote the flow. :jerseycow:

Oh, please. Women have been breastfeeding for thousands of years, and drinking while doing so just as long. As long as she's not rip-roaring drunk, the baby wouldn't be getting enough residual alcholol to even notice it. Mammary glands are an efficient filter.

I'm breastfeeding my daughter, and have a glass of wine or two with dinner every night. She hasn't started singing karaoke or sleeping with ugly men yet, so I'm pretty sure it's within her limit.

Before Ambesol/Oragel were invented, moms would soak a gauze pad in alcohol and rub it on the baby's gums when they were teething.

Mammary glands do not filter anything, they are ducts and produce milk.
The liver metabolizes the alcohol and the rest go to the kidneys.

Drinking during pregnancy can cause fetal alcohol syndrome.

Yes, but the topics up for debate are:

1. Whether or not it is dangerous to drink alcohol while breast feeding, and
2. Convincing Club'nBabySeals to get me drunk by letting me suckle her teet while she guzzles a bottle of Boone's Farm.

It doesn't matter. I don't see what the big deal is. who cares if some is drunk and breast feeds their kids.
