Converting VHS to DVD

Ok.. I hear you can have a combo vcr/dvd player - must be one that records of course.. and it will convert your vhs into dvd's.. is this right? so as long as I go get a vcr/dvd recorder combo - I can convert them right? do I need any type of added wires or anything? TIA

That would be correct. I have never done it, but have heard from other people it is easy to do and foolproof.

Depends on the unit. Some, even tho they have DVD record capability, will not dub from VHS to DVD. Carefully read the specs on the unit you are looking at.

If your VHS tapes are copyrighted, a lot of DVD recorders won't record them. Same with stuff off TV. If it's copyrighted the DVD recorder will recognize it and tell you so, and it won't record it. :shrug:
