Looks yummy! I think I have had these before, just didn't know what they were called other than yummy cookies...

My daughter described them as light and fluffy cookies, my husband loves them because they aren't too sweet.

Cake mix, cool whip, powdered sugar and their not too sweet?

That's what I said, but they really don't taste that sweet. Most of the powdered sugar falls off before you eat it and I didn't use as much as the recipe said to.

I am so very blessed
These cookies really are very good. The lemon flavor is my favorite. We'd call them "Lemon Snowflakes".

Oh, next time I'm using lemon, didn't even think of that. I think there's an orange cake mix too I may try. Not any time soon though.

I was just informed that the cookies are almost gone, so I guess I'll be making more sooner than I thought.

Ok Bat_Kat, dumb guy here, i am using your recipe. Bought devils Food Cake mix, only difference in your instructions, i placed the batter in the fridge for an hour before dipping into the powdered sugar and baking. Will post later and let you all know how i made out. Wife and S.I.L. almost fell over when i told them i was going to bake some cookies.

Ok, 6 people have tried them and they all like them Thank you Bay_Kat. I think the next time i make them i will use a different cake mix. I think the ladies here would have preferred lemon or white cake mix.

I did lemon last night and they were really good. Glad my neighbors like cookies or I'd gain 100 pounds before the holidays are over.

Tomorrow I'm going to try orange.

Jam thumbprint cookies - anyone make those? My mother used to make them every Christmas and they were one of my favorite! I mention these to my wife and she looks at me like I have a third eye....

And let me just say - even if I had the recipe, I am no RPMDAD!

I love those. I think my ex husband's mother made every kind of cookie known to man at Christmas time. She'd freeze them and we'd have Christmas cookies in the middle of the summer.

I do! They are one of my personal favorites. I roll them in coconut then use an apple spiced jam. OMG sooooo good. They taste like little apple pies almost. :yum:

Never heard of them with coconut. My mother always used nuts - black walnuts I think because that's what we always had laying around - and we put homemade strawberry or raspberry jam on them that had been made over the summer.

I'll try yours though - look good. I'm working down in Ridge today till 4 if you care to bring some to me....

I'm at work until three today :frown:

I make all my dough (usally about 10 different cookie types) a couple weeks before Christmas. I'll bake a few dozen and make gift baskets for co-workers & friends. Tonight I'll be using the rest to make a huge cookie platter for tomorrow. Between my prime rib, all the cookies, & santa duty... I'll be busy as hell tonight

FYI, my daughter made the orange cool whip cookies, they were really good too. Out of the lemon, orange and white cake mix, I still like the white cake mix best.

My girlfriend said she's tried them w/ red velvet cake topped w/ one of the hersheys swirl kisses. Sounded good to me  The possibilities are endless w/ all the flavors they have now.
