Does anyone know why all the cops were in the "newer" section of Wildewood late Friday? There were a ton of them surrounding a duplex in the Dahlia Park area... I didnt see anything on the homepage...

On Thursday a few state troopers flew past me while I was out jogging. Sirens and everything- very dramatic! I haven't seen anything about that either.

That guy had attic insulation all over him. I'm itching just looking at that picture.

What i dont understand is, if it is a well known drug house, why did it take so long for them to be apprehended?

Bulldoze the neighborhood. At least that's what you hear when this happens in the Park or Great Mills.

That is a very ignorant thing to say.

Wow, didnt get that, didya? My point wasn't that it should be bulldozed, just that people always say stuff like that when there's a drug bust like this in Lexington Park or Great Mills. It would be ignorant, if I hadn't added that second sentence, to point up the fact that drugs are everywhere, and bulldozing an area because drugs were present is ignorant.

Like the people who assume they know about GMHS and SRMS, but never had kids attend there.

 I guess I typed that wrong... I should have typed "That would be a very ignorant thing to say." Sorry :ohwell:

Now Spock, all due respect because you don't seem like the regular person on here who likes to argue for the sake of it, but at GMHS and SRMS, there are more calls for the police at either of those schools than any other school in the county so I think their reputation is deserved.

I agree with you that there are drugs everywhere and while there are pockets of crime in Lexington Park and Great Mills, there are also great places to live. There are pockets of crime in any area where there is a concentration of people.

Some person calling in saying "I think there's a drug house down the street" doesn't warrant......a warrant.

How about when you show pictures taken over several weeks of obvious drug deals going down and they still don't get a warrant. I think they might have had more than one call.

And how about family members calling the cops on them... :coffee:

To obtain a search warrant, an officer must show a judge that there’s probable cause that a crime has been or is being committed. The officer’s “affidavit,” or statement of probable cause, is usually submitted to the court in writing, but sometimes an officer gives her affidavit orally, usually when calling from a crime scene to request a warrant.

They must be able to defend that in court also, so I'm sure they wanted to get some solid evidence instead of some phone calls (no matter who they are from), and pictures (could be altered, or not show enough information).

But that's the problem, the rep isn't about that, not really. The posts from ignorant people indicate that your child would be in danger, and cannot get a good education at those schools. Both statements would be wrong. They know the kids from "disadvantaged" households go to those schools, and I imagine they picture something like the schools in the Wire TV series. So, no, that reputation isn't deserved.
