Corn Meal vs bread crumbs

I think it would be a bit more gritty as well. Do you have crackers? Crushed crackers or even corn flakes would be my choice over cornmeal.

No.

Take three slices of white bread, get rid of the crust and break it up, then soak it in milk for a few minutes. Wring it out, add it to your meatloaf - moist!

I do that, but I dont soak mine in milk, just tear it into small pieces and add it to the mix.

I wouldn't.

Bread crumbs are nice and light and fluffy. Cornmeal is dense and gritty.

I'd think that your meatloaf would be as heavy and dense as a brick.

Try crackers or try making your own bread crumbs. If you have no bread, try using English muffins, bagels, or something similar.

I find my best meat loaf is made with a box of Stove Top stuffing. They used to have a mushroom flavor which I can't find anymore, but that made the best meatloaf ever.

What a great idea! I'll have to try that this week!

I'll post this again since *obviously* my suggestion was overlooked. What about toast? Do you have any toast? I think toast would work. Toast. :coffee:

If she had any toast, she'd also have bread.

And since the recipe called for "bread crumbs", it'd be smart to use that bread to make - get this - bread crumbs.

Besides, do you really want the taste of toast in your meatloaf? I wouldn't.

You could take the try out of the bottom of the toaster and shake it in the meatloaf. That way you could have toast and bread crumbs combined into one.
