U.S. District Judge Paula Xinis today sentenced Correctional Officer Janel Griffin, age 41, of Baltimore, to 27 months in federal prison, followed by three years of supervised release, for a federal racketeering charge related to her participation in a scheme to smuggle contraband into the Maryland Correctional Institute Jessup (MCIJ), including narcotics, unauthorized flash drives, tobacco, and cell phones.
