Couch-towing stunt proves fatal
One young man is dead another is facing charges after a late-night stunt involving a truck, a sled and a couch went terribly wrong in the Beauce region on Saturday.
According to Sûreté du Québec spokesperson Geneviève Bruneau, a group of young people decided to hook both the sled and the couch to the back of the truck on a rural road in St. Benjamin.
As they were speeding down the road, another vehicle approached from the opposite direction. The driver of that car was unable to stop and struck the couch being dragged, killing the 22-year-old man who had been riding on it.
