Could the 2016 Dem. candidate be...

Owe'Malley???

WASHINGTON -- Gov. Martin O'Malley seized the opportunity at a breakfast with members of the national media to emphasize jobs and the economy as Democrats' unifying message this election year in Washington, D.C., Friday.

...

But it is O'Malley's potential as a candidate that brought him to the Third Way breakfast, which billed him as a "hot prospect" for the Democratic nomination in the 2016 presidential election.
Going from The O to The Owe. Could he do worse than Obama?

Only if Obama wins.

If Romney wins, they'll try to find someone left of center, unless Romney is a colossal failure.

In My Opinion
O'Malley is definitely a formidable 2016 candidate.

Too many groups starting up to show the real owemalley.
I think he will tank before he gets started. At least that is my hope.

He would be worse than obama

Outside of Maryland the Dem voters have no idea who he even is. If he gives the keynote address for the Dem convention, THEN you'll know he's up to bat.

Just because you don't watch what Dems watch doesn't mean they don't know who he is. O'Malley's the chair of the Democratic Governors Association and makes frequent appearances on MSNBC (which is, you know, basically the DNC's news channel).

What happens when he tries to run and his lies come out in plain view?

Tax increases,
runaway spending
illegals
.25 additional tax per gallon of gas
Wind power that will never pay for itself.

Just to name a few. Do you think that even democrats are dumb enough to vote for an idiot like this after what they endured under obama?

Okay, so 10 people know who he is. Hurray.

Has he been asked to speak at the convention?

Yes, I do.

Tax increases, that's the national Democratic Party mantra right now. Runaway spending, something BOTH parties support and citizens will ALWAYS support because they don't want to give anything up. Democrats are pushing for a DREAM Act. Gas tax -- there are a lot of nutties on the left that don't think gas prices are high enough.

You've got to remember, Democrats don't think Obama is far enough to the left.

I know plenty of Democrats who think he's wayyyy too far to the left.

Just sayin.. Got to be carefull using that broad brush.

And which party threw a national temper tantrum when Obama extended the Bush tax cuts?

I'll NEVER forget Ed Schultz and Keith Olbermann's complete on-air meltdown from that night... and Rachel Maddow, to a lesser degree while Lawrence O'Donnell was preaching logic ("it's called compromise" and even chewed Alan Grayson's ass out). MSNBC was a lot of fun to watch that night. :roflmao:

:yay: He doesn't stand a snowballs chance in Hell to get 10% of the votes.

Allow me to relay an Fb discussion a friend of mine started this morning...
Danielle Who are you going to vote for for president and why?

Adam Since Lewis Black isn't running, that Obama guy. I really was hoping to elect a socialist Muslim fascist black supremicist. But I'll take the next best thing.

Erika What Adam said. Obama isn't nearly as progressive as I'd like, but given the alternatives....he's the best we're likely to get.

Brian I was hoping Vermin Supreme might have stolen the Democratic nomination but it's not looking so good. I'm voting Obama and really hoping his second term addresses some social evolution issues.

Spin Obama. i had realistic expectations when he took office, i understood that there's only so much power a president has over congress ... and i knew he would encounter so much more resistance in the political world than any other president. I'm not disappointed in him. i'm disappointed in congress for fighting like a bunch of toddlers on too much sugar, and i will be voting accordingly in those elections.

David Since Cenk Ugar isn't dumb enough to get into politics, I'll have to send my vote to B.O. I agree with Spin that the prez has only has so much power. He has better ideals than others.
These comments - namely Erika's - scare the crap out of me and reaffirm my growing belief that the only way America will be strong again is if there is another revolution and things are rebuilt from scratch.

As for The Owe'Malley, I see him pushing hard on immigration amnesty or some other open-door policy. He has given the illegals a cozy home in MD, and I bet he would love to make that happen nationwide.
