This is it, the homestretch. We are now less than two months away from the largest spectacle in sports. For 49 years, fans have crowded the Daytona International Speedway. This next one is the big one, the 50th running of the Daytona 500. Thought last year's 500 was something? Daytona's website has a good lookback.

I am so excited to go next year. We went 2 years ago and had a blast. It is going to very special for my family and I, our Cousin is the new crew chief for #12 Ryan Newman. We are just glad it is not Kurt anymore

Just hearing...

... that ESPN has issued a press release highlighting their 2008 NASCAR coverage.

This is important, because there is no mention (with 25 days to go until NASCAR Nationwide Series testing, 50 to go until the Nationwide Series hits the track on ESPN2) of WHO will be commentating the races.

Will it be Dr. Punch or Alan Bestwick? Is Rusty gone? What about Suzy Kolber (please let her slide under a rock somewhere)? Brad Daughetry?

Also, does ESPN think fans are going to be happy with a commentator change alone? Their whole production sucks. ESPN NASCAR Countdown was decent until they fed Suzy Kolber to us.
