Countertop Resurfacing

Has anyone had there countertop resurfaced with permaglaze or something similar? The testimonials from the dealers site all look great, but I would like to see it in person, and hear from others. I had Corian at my last house and it was great, but my home inspector was telling me about this product that gives the look of Corian with out the cost.

My mom had her bathtub done by something similar 10 years ago. It has held up good with the exception of one little surface inperfection. She went from harvest gold to bright white.

I wish they could do toilets because I have two from the 70's (that will actually suck down the poop) but they are 70's colors.

The latest model toilets, especially American Standard, will do a very good job of flushing. They are nothing like the original models that took two or three flushes to dump a wilted cheeseburger.

But the website doesn't tell me squat on how they are doing this. Shows them ripping up a bathroom, but nothing on how the resurfacing is accomplished.

The guy that did my moms bathtub etched the tub with something, then laid down a flat grey primer that smelled just horrible and really strong, waited 30 minutes then brushed on some kind of paint that smelled equally as bad.

The care instructions do say not to use abrasive cleaners, she has only used Dow Bathroom Cleaner with Scrubbing Bubbles and her tub finish is still shiny and smooth.

They say in other forums and diy sites. Just no one really mentions durability or how they like it years later. Its between this our going with granite or Corian.

I work at a mill shop and have never heard of this, nor has anyone else here.
I would ask if a past customer list or references could be provided and call the oldest installation on the list.

I'm wondering if this is similar to spray in truck bed liner with a smoother finish.
I would be concerned with peeling. Also I'd be prepared to buy new tops if this didn't do it for you, 5yr. warranty - You'll probably need new tops in 5-7yrs maximum is my guess.

Suggestion.. I would insist that they remove your sink so the finish goes under the flange not beside as shown in the photos.

Kitchen, well the house for that matter is only 4-5 years old. Its just not to my taste. We plan on replacing the sink too. What kind of mill shop? Do you do cabinet/counter top work? At this phase I am looking at all options and just gathering info. Granite was our first choice, I just need to find a granite place besides Lowes.

Unfortunately all we do is commericial work - no residential.
I personally have granite and love it however it is costly.
Because we're only commericial I don't know of anyone to recommend that does residential work.
I would get prices from a couple local kitchen and bath contractors and also call a mable/granite manufacturer - I believe there's one in Waldorf.
If you choose granite you should be able to pick out your slab, which is great because colors can vary, they receive them already polished on one side.

Definately ask to see finished project pics and references.

There is a place in LaPlata that does granite, I just can't think of the name right now. There is also a company that does granite resurfacing. They come in measure and make templates of your existing counters, do all the cuts at their shop, then lay the new granite on top of your existing counter tops. They are located in Northern Va but they do jobs down here.

Try this place:
