Court mulls death penalty for child rape

" WASHINGTON (AP) -- The Supreme Court agreed Friday to decide whether a state can execute someone convicted of raping a child, one of the few remaining crimes that does not require the death of the victim to result in capital punishment.

Patrick Kennedy, 43, was sentenced to death for the rape of his 8-year-old stepdaughter in Louisiana. He is the only person on death row in the United States for a rape that was not also accompanied by a killing."

I have no problem with the death penalty for rape, but first we need to play catch up and execute those who have been waiting for over a year. I see no reason to make them wait.

That is a great idea..instead of a Federal Holiday...let's have a federal execution day.....Lets say on August 10th (I don't think August has any holidays)..all prisoners on death row will be put to death...use those cells to ease the overcrowding, etc...

But I agree with the other post..if he raped my child , it would not be a court problem to handle..

Anyone think that the reason that the court did this is because they know what happens to those prisoners that "harm a child"?....It's pretty much an instant death sentence as soon as the other prisoners find out

They put him on death row....he lives to see another day

btw....I agree with the rest of the people that said that if someone were to do this to their child....It would be me that is the one that would be sentenced

For some reason I thought these days that child rapists were kept out of the general population already. But then again, I have only seen this in the large prisons that they show on TV, not sure about the smaller prisons.

Even if they do keep them out of the "general population"....the other prisoners will still get them....perfect example: Jeffrey Daimer

Prisoners don't like it when you mess with kids or moms for some reason
