Cradle Cap

yeah yeah
I was given the "solution" if you will, to scrub the "hell out of Irelands head" with baby oil, with her baby brush.. but I wasnt sure if there was another way to do it. It seemed a little harsh, but I tried that tactic, and she got so upset. I am not quite sure if there is another way to do it, or something I can do to remedy it or what. Any info or remedies you had success with- would be greatly appreciatated! Thanks! :flowers:

There is a shampoo just for this called Gentle Naturals Craddle Cap Shampoo.

I had to use it a few times for my little man and it does work a lot better than the baby oil :yay:

This is severe dry skin, right? My thoughts would be to keep the area moisturized. Have you thought about cortizone?

It'll take a little time so don't expect instant resluts in anything you do:yay:

I always washed my kids hair with a baby brush to keep them from getting cradle cap and it worked out pretty well:yay: Just a light scrub with each shampoo:wink:

Or you could just let it go. It'll build up for about a year and a half into a hard helmet like structure.

Then a solid smack to the noggin with a flashlight or crab-mallet and it'll crack open like an oyster shell.

The inside is pretty mucusy, so do it in the shower, where the muck will go down the drain and you can wash their head before it dries.

I found that baby oil and a fine tooth comb work the best. You have to be gentle so you don't scratch her head but it worked better that anything else that I tried. I would put baby oil in her hair and work in small sections then I would wash her hair twice a day until it cleared up. Also try switching the shampoo that you are using that could be causing it! I used panteen and my daughters head cleared right up in no time.

Of course I'm not serious!

Never NEVER hit a baby in the head with a flashlight or a mallet.

Jam the helmet with an oyster shucker and pry it open.

this was a joke too

Johnson head to toe is the one that was giving my daughter cradle cap. If you don't want to use regular shampoo try Huggies that will work also.
