I have never made cranberry sauce before, always just opened a can and plopped it on a plate...how do you make?

Open the can and plop on a plate.
That's how I normally would do it, but I've had a request for real cranberry sauce and I aim to please
I aim to be ghetto.
One bag of cranberries, cleaned and picked over for stems.
One cup of sugar.
One cup of water.
Simmer until the berries pop. Cool, then serve.
Open the can and plop on a plate.
I have cranberry aversion, anyway, after the Great Cranberry Debacle of 1999.
I don't like cranberry sauce at all :yuck:
I made this Cranberry-Orange sauce last year. It was pretty good...but I'd add more sugar than the recipe calls for.

Though I throw it in a crock pot so I'm not taking up stove space. I also mess around and add other things as I feel like it - a little orange juice, some fresh mint, etc. But the above is very basic very easy.
1/2 cup of brandy
If it's not shaped like a can, it's not edible.
Mmmm purple can-shaped gel.
