Creme Fraiche

Anybody know where to buy some? I checked a few stores yesterday, didn't see any. Need it for a seafood recipe, don't want to use sour cream.

Yes, I could make some, but it needs 12-18 hours of standing time and I would like to use it this evening.

You can also make it...I've made it before...its good but not exactly the same as the stuff I've purchased.

Had to postpone this one for a bit. The stores I visited did not have the creme fraiche, and I wasn't going to drive all over creation just for that, so I'm making my own. It's getting firm but don't think it will be ready by this evening.

I wasn't totally surprised by not finding it but this one caught me.... I went to 4 liquor stores before I found a bottle of Pernot. Not only did the stores not carry it, most didn't even know what it was!!!! I mean.... that's their business, knowing and selling liquor! Appears if it's not Bud Light or Thunderbird, it's too hoity-toity.

I like living in a non-urban area, the openness, the slower pace, etc.... but I sorely miss having access to anything you need when you need it and don't have to drive a hour to find it.

Mine never got as thick as the crème fraiche that I had purchased (its thicker than yogurt but not as thick as sour cream)

I bet you nicks of Clinton would've had both
