On July 4 at 5:15 a.m., two suspects entered a diner in the 6300 block of Crain Highway in La Plata. They confronted an employee who was getting ready to open the business, announced a robbery, and stabbed the employee in the neck with an unknown object. The suspects fled in a vehicle without taking any money. The employee sustained a superficial wound to his neck and was treated on the scene. The driver of the vehicle was located a short time later and arrested by patrol officers; the passenger had fled from the car. Detectives are trying to identify the passenger. He is approximately 35-40-years-old, and between 5’4” – 5’6” in height; a photograph of the passenger is attached.

The driver, Jose Nery Garcia Guevara, 35, of Waldorf, was charged with robbery, first-degree assault, and other related charges.
