Thanks folks--the original shot is just that.... completely untouched....no modification at all. I thought by playing with it I could bring out some of the finer details....like the talons on the feet and the feathers and texture of the branch.

I prefer it too--because of detail...it is more-"print like" if that makes any sense. I also tried it in black and white pastels(like charcoal drawing!) and a watercolor version in black and white--which I like too.

Here's another--succesive shot--closer to landing--those feet just give me chills!!!-if the wings weren't cut off....I would really love this pic--and--if you could have heard the noise the other bird made---like
"don't you hit me you bastard!" They were having quite the conversation and it continued after landing---they are amazing to observe! (sorry have to reduce them down so far--they are huge files!)
