Crock pot wings

My husband loves my wings and I usually just season and bake them and throw them in some sauce. Having this snow day makes me want to try something new, maybe throw them in a crock pot but I'm worried they'll fall apart, does anyone have any ideas for crock pot wings???

I would think the meat would fall off the bones in little pieces and be a pain in the ass. Why not just stick with baking them? Why change up a good thing?

Chicken in the crockpot always gets gross flabby skin so I usually only do skinless that way. I like the ground beef/ground pork idea better.

What happened to the wings? It sounds like a great idea.

Nope. Even on low for 4 hours...all the meat fell right off. Which defeats the purpose when eating wings. While the meat was delicious and tender bc we'd marinated and cooked them in a nice sauce, we kept having to dodge around the little bones and cartilage. :dead:

Made the same mistake for bone-in porkchops once too. Don't normally grab bone-in but I think they were on sale. Kept finding bone fragments bc the chops fell apart so easily. Might as well grab a huge chunk of pork and make pulled pork

Basically my new rule is no small bones in the crockpot.

Oh. Good to know. I have never really used my 25 year old crockpot except for pot roast, stew, or meatballs. My daughter uses hers all the time for all kinds of meals. Yeah, picking through the bones doesn't sound so great. Thanks for the tip!

My daughter says this recipe is good.
