Okay, the heat and sun got to my hostas and now they're brown and not particularly attractive. Can I cut them down, and will they grow back?

Yeah...you can cut them back. But I still water them. Sometimes, they will die completely down to the roots.

A lil bit of H2O and mulch goes a long way w/Hosta's, mine are still green and full.
Hey, I thought you had your own "private gardener" :really:

Nope - he just comes around to cut the grass and do cleanup stuff.

So if I add more mulch they'll get better? And how often should I be watering them?

I let ours get dry, then water well. They seem to be doing okay, wish I could say the same for my grass!
