How did NO ONE notice these girls were gone? This woman has family....
Apparently she didn't have "family" as she, herself grew up in fostercare. I think her boy friend, Joe C. Dickerson can help answer a lot of questions.

Maybe I mis-read the article, I thought it said that she grew up with her Aunt and Uncle? Doesnt' mean they are alive or stayed in contact though I guess.

 it's probably apparent that the child was never let outside; just hope it's nowhere near where she will be reminded of what she went through

My friends and I were talking about this this morning. I think that they should take her somewhere outside of Lusby, even outside of Calvert. Why keep her here where all this happened? Where everyone knows?

There are other developments with a Lusby address that are not located in CRE. I would hope that the social workers would have enough sense not to put her back in the same neighborhood. However, everyone reads the newspapers here so I doubt she will find a place that hasn't heard about her case - especially since it continues to be played out in the media.

Sounds like ANYPLACE that child goes is going to be better than where she has been. I hope "mama" rots in hell.

My concern is all the children that know about it. I would hate to see her be in school with the kids who lived by her and know alot of the details. I think that would be even harder for her.

Personally I would like to see her tortured.

it was not maryland who gave her the children it was DC SOCIAL SERVICES I also heard that the 2 little girls she killed were special needs children
i just cant believe she did this, why couldnt she just take them back to where she adopted them from. and said she couldnt handle it. there's too many resources out here now. not to try. we have the internet, cellphones, pda, smart phones, gps, she coulda went online and talked to a Shrink. i hope she is killed the same exact way she did those poor little girls.
an EYE FOR AN EYE.
the dangerous crimes are really getting close to home now.

Man, shes one hot mama, :sarcasm: she wont have any trouble finding a prison date on Friday night. How sad, she would have been a perfect match for Jeffrey Dahmer. Yea, maryland really does a good background check on those who want to take care of kids. Anyone need daycare? Think twice, it might be better to stay home and be poor.

This child is exactly where she needs to be...with a loving therapeutic foster family. Taking her away from the area or not acknowledging or avoiding what she has been through can make this little girl feel as if she did something wrong.

as far as i know, my kids do not know anything about this. They have not asked and i've not discussed it. If they do know, it's because kids at school whose parents werent parenting them let them watch it on tv! okay, so bust my chops, but SOME news is NOT kid appropriate !?!?!.... i read about it online and watched news clips online or on the 10-11pm news - when my kids were in bed asleep. I know alot of parents just let their kids see whatever, but i didnt think hearing about a 7 yr old being beaten and starved to near death and 2 others being killed and placed in a freezer was appropriate for my 9 and 5 yr old. Hopefully, more parents thought like i did and shielded their kids from this.

I think it's good to let the kids know what's out there. Not everywhere or everyone is safe like home. Helps them see they need to be careful and not go off with anyone.

:yeahthat: My kids watch the news with me and actually saw this news report. They were both sitting on the couch with their mouths wide-open in shock. I looked at them and promptly said "guess I'm not the meanest Mom in the world now, am I?"

My kids know about it, they watch the news and it is talked about. I would rather them hear about it from me and the news instead of the stories going around between the kids. Their are kids that go to school with my kids that LIVE on the street that this happened. So they would hear about it regardless.

When my oldest daughters friend's mom was killed last year I talked to her about it. Their was no hiding it. The poor child was in her class and the rumors that were going around were INSANE. My heart and hers still breaks for Devin and his brother and sister. The class got together and put together things for him. We took the bad and tried to make something good out of it.

You can't always shelter them.

okay, so you're probably right about not sheltering them and better they hear the truth as we know it vs. what stories kids tell... i did tell them about the kidnapping/robbery deal... which happened right before that. i was trying to give the example of doing what your told when your told - when mommy says move, move and this could be reasons why.... AND because they were on lock down at school and wanted to know what on earth was going on in the county that would make oldest be locked in her trailer classroom all day?? anyways... but man...just didnt want them to invision the story in their brains you know... i was horrified by it!

devin -- not many devins around... we knew a devin from tball and he was big football player... same age or year older my oldest = your oldest's age...pm me...

i knew you'd get me on the "sheltering" them.... my kids have just been through so much already... the less they have to think about with the craziness in the world there is, the better.

My kiddo, 10, knows about it. She did not see it on TV or read it on the internet, she heard it straight from me. I told her. We talked about it. I did not want her going to school and hearing about it from the kids there. Who knows what kind of stories are/were going around the school. You do not want your kids getting their information from other kids. It's sad that a 10 year old has to hear this stuff, but regardless of if I told her or not, she would find out. Better to hear it from Momma in a loving environment then to find out the "facts" from kids at school.

i read about it online and watched news clips online or on the 10-11pm news
It was the top story on all the news of the day and for several days. Noon, 5, 6....
