CSM CSM’s Guided Pathways Help Students Map Coursework; Stay on Path to Success

The College of Southern Maryland’s (CSM) six Guided Pathways will lead you to a rewarding career or prepare you for transfer to a bachelor’s degree program.

The college’s 92 programs were placed within six program clusters to help focus students as they begin their coursework. The Guided Pathways approach simplifies the process for students and helps to identify the credit or non-credit program that’s right for them by grouping similar programs.

The six pathways include: art and humanities; business and information systems; education and public service; health; science, technology, engineering and math; and, trades, transportation and energy.

Guided Pathways are coupled with a front-end career assessment—or Career Coach—to help students understand where their skills and interests are strongest.
