The $1,000 award, provided by the Support Education Foundation which was started by Educational Systems FCU, will help support Mitchell’s work toward her additional master’s degree and other industry certifications in cybersecurity.
“Assistant Professor Mitchell stands up our cybersecurity club and award-winning student competitive cybersecurity team, the CSM Cyberhawks,” shared the Dean of CSM’s School of Professional and Technical Studies Bernice Brezina. “She devotes many hours to providing students this additional outlet for honing their cyber skills and advancing their knowledge. She also manages our networking lab and provides leadership for our networking courses and puts in the time necessary to ensure that our cybersecurity students are provided with the best preparation to pass the CISCO and CompTIA networking certifications that help them to obtain employment.
