CSM CSM Greets Season with GivingTuesday, Connections Literary Series, Engineering ‘Meet and Greet’ and an Online Music Recital

CSM Foundation GivingTuesday. Dec. 1. The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) Foundation will join colleges and nonprofits around the world to celebrate generosity by participating in Giving Tuesday, a 24-hour online giving event. CSM Virtual Connections Literary Series Magazine Reading. 7 p.m., Dec. 2. Zoom. Contributors will read and discuss their works published in Connections, a regional literary journal published twice a year that features poems, stories, artwork and photography. Free. www.csmd.edu/connections.

Transfer Thursdays. 11 a.m. Dec. 3 – 17. Zoom. CSM hosts Transfer institutions virtually each Thursday from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. Representatives from two different institutions will be available to chat with students and help navigate their future transfer experience. Virtual Engineering Meet and Greet. 6:30 p.m. Dec. 3. Zoom. Students are invited to learn about CSM’s engineering programs. Meet with engineers and students who have completed the Southern Maryland Partnership with the University of Maryland at College Park. RSVPs are required to access Zoom information. Code C Friday. 1:30 p.m. Dec. 4 – 18. Most CSM services will close at 1:30 p.m. on Code C Fridays and remain closed throughout the weekend except for special events/circumstances as announced.

CSM Honors Recital: 3-4 p.m. Dec. 11. The Honors Recital showcases CSM’s student musicians, giving them an opportunity to share their talents with a larger community. These student musicians are both instrumentalists and singers. The programs are usually quite diverse, drawing from the classical, musical theater, jazz and rock traditions. CSM Closes for Winter Break. Dec. 23, 3 p.m. to Jan. 3, 8 a.m. College of Southern Maryland, all campuses. CSM will close for Winter Break starting at 3 p.m. on Dec. 23 and will resume normal operating hours on Jan. 3. During Winter Break, online services are available at http://my.CSMD.edu and www.csmd.edu. Students enrolled in the Winter Session will have access to services and resources during this time.
