The College of Southern Maryland (CSM) will hold a special virtual reading of its “Connections” Literary Magazine Friday, May 15 at 7:30 p.m. Contributors will read and discuss their poems, stories, artwork and photography recently published in the spring 2020 edition.
Each semester, students and community members are invited to hear from the Connections Literary Magazine contributors. This spring’s Connections reading will offer the same exhibition of art but delivered in a virtual format via Zoom. To enjoy the magazine, read it online at Connections Literary Magazine Spring 2020. Guests can register for the free event at https://www.csmd.edu/calendar/arts/2020-5-15-connections-reading.
In past reading guests have been able to enjoy the work of many talented authors and artists, such as Jericho Brown, 2020 Pulitzer Prize Winner for Poetry.
“We’re so honored to have had the opportunity to share his gift with our CSM and Southern Maryland community last fall,” said Neal Dwyer, Languages and Literature professor at CSM. “We can add [Brown] to the list of incredible authors we’ve brought to our region through the Connections series.” Click on the video below to hear Brown’s fall 2019 Connections reading.
The Connections Literary Series is sponsored by CSM’s English, Communication and Languages Division, and supported by grants from the Arts Council of Calvert County, the Charles County Arts Alliance, the St. Mary’s County Arts Council and the Maryland State Arts Council.
