I think there is no doubt that the medal of freedom has been quite diminished from what it's original intention was. I can see John McCain, possibly Gabby Giffords and Steve Jobs. The rest are questionable at best. It is obvious that this is simply a political award, not a truly meaningful one. Megan Rapinoe, Denzel Washington, and Simone Biles? The bar for achievement in the US keeps being lowered more and more. Pretty soon, I can win one......simply for stepping over the bar that is lying on the ground!

It's interesting seeing mentally ill progs assuming everyone is as triggered and psychotic as they are. They flip out on command over every little stimulus, so they think everyone does.

How about all those who were awarded 'The Navy Cross' with the Global War On Terror.
The Presidential Medal of Freedom is awarded by the president of the United States "for especially meritorious contribution to (1) the security or national interests of the United States, or (2) world peace, or (3) cultural or other significant public or private endeavors".
He’s an actor, they’ve got their own awards for doing acting stuff.

I was trying to figure why someone would call conservatives "snowflakes". Literally for decades we've been satirized as being heartless bastards while the expression "bleeding heart liberal" is still in use today. A liberal who loses a race cries; a conservative says "see you NEXT time" - because we don't believe we are ENTITLED.

Yep, he is very philanthropic and last year he was named the Honorary Sergeant Major of the Army.
They do cross all kinds of categories. Typically, politicians and military and sometimes athletes and actors. Mostly, people who have made a great difference in the lives of fellow citizens.
This year is a mixed bag. They gave one to the first person to take the vaccine, and to the Khans, who gained notoriety by criticizing Trump at the Dem Convention. Many of the celebrity figures are also widely known for their stances on issues Biden favors.
That is to be expected. There's virtually zero chance a Democrat would ever award one to Rush Limbaugh.

Have you seen the comments about “cancel culture”? There have been tons of posts on here, folks basically in tears because some site blocked a post, put them in fb “jail”, banned them from Twitter, the list goes on and on!
Kids throwing a tantrum, snowflakes, call them whatever you like, it’s expected behavior when their overlord is known for throwing dishes against the wall when he doesn’t get his way.

Tantrum my ass. Most are irritated but also a little proud of it. It’s contemptible but also laughable. You’re projecting. Just because YOU might lose it doesn’t mean others mentioning it says that THEY are.
If anything, it reaffirms to us how fragile and stupid the left is, that Facebook puts you in FB jail for a post that simply says “God Bless America”.
I have the same reaction as when I see a newly painted road paint over roadkill. It’s stupid but not surprising.
