A Maryland father died Saturday after sustaining life-ending injuries while defending his children after a schoolyard fight took a dark turn.

Christopher Michael Wright, 43, met two adults and three teens who approached his home on May 19 around 5 p.m. and assaulted him when Wright refused to let them speak with his fiancée’s son.

The boy, 14, had gotten in a fight at Brooklyn Park Middle School with another teen, and they wanted to continue the fight after school, but Wright told them he was not going to let them fight with the boy. His fiancée, Tracy Karopchinsky, told 11 News that the suspects had then turned their attention on Wright, telling him that if the boy would not fight, they would fight with him instead.

Police listed the suspects as three to four White males in their mid-20s to mid-30s in age.

Boy was having trouble with a kid at school, 9th grade. The kid and his dad showed up at my house, boy home alone while dad and I were working. Lots of threats made, nothing physical. Hubby was ready to run right over there when we got home.

Talked them into calling the local LEOs, because I knew hubby's temper and any confrontation would be ugly. Plus, they were in the wrong, confronting a minor at home by himself.

SMC deputy came and talked to boy (with us present), the went to kid's house, came back to let us know he took care of it.

Boy never had another moments problem.

I hate to be the guy to judge a book by it's cover, but this guy is 43 and looking like this? I bet if we follow-up we find out he escalated the issue with these guys who probably just came over to confront him about his step-kids bullying.

That's good by me and most ANY other law abiding citizen. Problem is coloreds refuse to rat on other coloreds and should they murder someone they raise hell that they're being persecuted no matter how bad the villain.
