Dallas suicide watch...

...I try to not take pleasure in the misfortune of others but, in the case of the Cowboys this PM and the incredible determination they showed in trying to lose this game, the will, the fighting spirit to do whatever it took, no matter how bleak it looked, to make sure Green Bay had just one more chance to win it, man, if they don't wake up with night terrors tonight, I don't know what it would take.

And, what's with the Packers? The no call on the false start? Where was the screaming up and down? Where was the fire? They seemed sorta happy with coming back so far and then losing in a noble effort. I guess they finally got with it when it dawned on them Dallas simply was in the Christmas spirit of giving.

And what about that crowd? The boos when the Cowboys had the ball towards the end? The eruption in cheers when the refs were finally forced to not protect the home town heroes anymore? Who was this a home game for???

Highly entertaining game. :buddies:

Watching the comments from my Dallas fan friends on Facebook has been entertainment gold. At least, as a Jacksonville fan, I'm not filled with false hope like Dallas fans are year after year.

Well, come on! It's one thing to think Jax could do this or that or the other if they did this and that and the other thing and THEN, way down stream, this happened. It's quite another when Dallas, right here, right now, has it in their hands and, quite literally, throws it away. Time and time again.

Keep in mind that back in Romo's first year as a starter (IIRC) he had the winning field goal in his hand over Seattle in the playoffs and muffed the hold, panicked and took of running. Add to that the epic disasters of the pre Romo era where Jackie Smith dropped a sure touchdown pass, a little 10 yard slant that hit him right in the breadbasket, late, against the Steelers in, IIRC, SB XII. No guarantee they'd win but, it was becoming the greatest Super Bowl to date until he dropped such a painfully easy throw.

Add to that the Danny White years, especially several games against us, they blew including one where Tom Laundry is yelling 'No, Danny, no!" as White was calling an audible, as, apparently Romo did yesterday, into a bad play.

Throw in the week 1, this year, game, 500 yards and THE pick.

I mean, from their view, you gotta be good to be in position to blow it but, man, this is becoming Shakespearean tragedy. Romo is a fantastic QB, absolutely wonderful. Great arm, superb touch, maddeningly mobile if you're trying to sack him, clearly a fighters spirit and, typically, surrounded by plenty of help. But then, there is this...thing.

I mean, what was all this fuming and yelling at the coach leading up to that last disaster? I get the deep throw to Bryant on that first down. It nearly worked and, if it did, game over. I have no idea if that is his call or not but, they'd been running the ball great, ALL game. It's one thing when you KNOW you can't run it and quite another to just roll the dice like that. And then, throw again and again!

In any event, they are FUN to watch and, maybe, this pulls them together and they run the table and exercise the demons this year?
