Daniel 7:26 “‘But the court will sit, and his power will be taken away and completely destroyed forever. 27 Then the sovereignty, power and greatness of all the kingdoms under heaven will be handed over to the holy people of the Most High. His kingdom will be an everlasting kingdom, and all rulers will worship and obey him.’
28 “This is the end of the matter. I, Daniel, was deeply troubled by my thoughts, and my face turned pale, but I kept the matter to myself.”

One commentary that I have gone to all the way through the chapter says the following.
Then the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdoms under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people, the saints of the Most High: This must describe the millennial earth, not our current age or heaven. The kingdom and dominion of the earth certainly does not belong to the righteous now. If this describes the eternal state, then what are the dominions that shall serve and obey Him? It therefore must describe the millennial earth.
Daniel's troubled reaction to the vision and its interpretation. We again notice that the kingdom and dominion . . . shall be given to the saints. It is something received, not achieved. The church does not convert the world to Jesus' kingdom and give the kingdom to Jesus; He gives it to them.
This is the end of the account. As for me, Daniel, my thoughts greatly troubled me, and my countenance changed; but I kept the matter in my heart.
My thoughts greatly troubled me: Many things might trouble Daniel at this vision - such as the ferocity of the attack to come against his people from the conspicuous horn.
And my countenance changed: Daniel was convinced that the prophecy was true, and that it was the word of God. He was so convinced of its truth that his countenance changed and he considered what would happen.

Another commentary has this to say.
The climax of this prophecy is God’s final judgment. The beast and the little horn power are judged and their kingdom is taken away; at the same time the verdict is made in favor of the saints and dominion is given to them.
These same events were portrayed in Daniel 2 when the stone crushed the statue of power and filled the whole earth.
God will set up His everlasting kingdom full of love, joy and peace; there will be no sickness or death.

All of the commentaries agree on a few things in these verses.
- There will be a trial
- God will sit as judge
- Evil will be completely destroyed
- Everyone will willfully worship and obey God for eternity
I'm reminded of an Adult Woman's Sunday School Class I had the honor of attending. A woman named Maxine lead the class. It was like no other Sunday School Class I attended. The women in this class all knew and loved the Bible. At the beginning of the class, there wasn't a long gossip session and a long prayer. They did bring their prayer concerns and pray efficiently so that they could get right into the study.
It was at this class that I learned that in Daniel it says that the Beast will be tied up and thrown in a pit for 1000 years. During this 1000 years there would be no temptation. People would have a chance to see and feel what living without evil thoughts would be like.
At the end of that 1000 years the Beast would be let out of the pit and tried. People would be given the option to have temptation in their lives again and "go with the flow" or continue in a life as it was originally intended back in the Garden of Eden before the original sin caused so much trouble.
All those who choose to take the Beast's side would be thrown into a fire hotter than the smelting fire along with the Beast.
All those who choose to live a life without temptation..... they have a perfect life, communing with God as He originally intended.
I didn't know about the 1000 years test period before that class.... but it all seems to make perfect sense.

In my opinion.... Daniel 7 ends with this promise.
When it's all said and done, things will go back to the way it was in the Garden of Eden before the original sin.
