So on the associated FB post, the first comment was that they were only singling this guy out because he was black. Not because he's been sentenced to over 20 years of time and apparently only served a total of three or four?

Don't suppose we could get Jaymi Sterling to have a town hall where she can help us understand how this happens and how we can fix it?

In Maryland a convicted felon can ask for a reconsideration of sentence:

In many reconsiderations neither the State's Attorney nor any victims are notified of the motion and hearing.

All that jail time didn't seem to be much of a deterrent in regards to resuming the criminal lifestyle.
Of course not, especially if you dont do 90% of it.

So, under the "Justice Reinvestment Act" you can appeal drug convictions as long as you are not a "kingpin". I note this doesn't just apply to marijuana crimes, but apparently any drug. I also note this doesn't mention crimes involving firearms. Makes me really want to see the paperwork involved in making eight years into less than two.

Funny how the liberals want to make it more expensive for me to own a firearm, but at the same time reduce the sentences of known felons using one in the commission of a crime.

It's been some time since MD implemented JRA, allegedly inmate population numbers are down as if that is a measure of the plan working.

They should do a mini-biography of one of our local scholars weekly.
