Day Trip from Hilton Head

I think I mentioned earlier that some friends and I are going to Hilton Head over Memorial Day. I want to take a day trip from Hilton Head to somewhere nearby, and both Charleston, SC and Savannah, GA were mentioned.

I went to Charleston when I was in middle school and think it's beautiful there. I don't know very much about Savannah. Anyone been there/have any advice either way?

It's a gorgeous city. I told ya that. You need to go there, tour the city, River Walk, cobblestone streets, Spanish moss..it's gorgeous!

Savannah is what she's describing... Very cool city! Reminded me of Annapolis around the River Walk, and up on the hillside.

Savannah is gorgeous. I loved it so much I named my dog after the city. It's only about 30 minutes away from HH.

You can take the Trolley Tour, which allows you to go around the city, hop off the tour to check out a stop, then catch the next one. Go walk the Riverwalk and enjoy all the little shops and yummy food. Take a cruise on a riverboat.

If you have time, drive to Tybee Island. Gorgeous scenery and great restaurants. Tour the lighthouse and the old fort.
