Open for suggestions. Looking for fun places to go with my BF within a 50 mile or so radius of Saint Mary's. We both like history, hole in the wall bars and restaurants, and poking around antique stores and flea markets.

So we're starting with Glory Days Antiques and probably stopping for lunch or dinner on the way home, but I'm totally unfamiliar with restaurants in the area and it's my turn to plan.

I think I remember you guys talking about Marie's Diner in La Plata - looks like it might be in the vicinity. Anyone been there lately or know of any other decent restaurant on the way home? The more meandering we do the better. Thanks!

At Glory Days you are close to Cobb Island, or Pope's Creek for seafood. If you go to LaPlata we have had good meals at Galazio's (greek food).

Thank you - looking all that up now. Omigod - Galazio's has gyros. We were just talking about Nikos on Saturday.

Of you go on over the bridge into VA the same lady who owns Glory Days has another shop in Port Royal, and there's another antique store just up from it. There's a restaurant just before her shop on the south bound side of 207 called Randolphs on the River that has good seafood. There's also other restaurants in King George, Colonial Beach, etc...that are good and not too far from that area.

I like Randolph's but don't recommend the crab cakes. A lot of filler.

Thanks. I LOVE Glory Days - no end to what you find in there. Not sure if I can talk him in to going any further but I'll give it a shot. Do you know the name of the other shop by any chance?

Colonial Beach is a fun day trip.
I think Colonial Beach may be something in the fall. His planned day trip is the Smith Island Cruise.
Savage, MD
Ellicott City, MD
I'd love to do Ellicott City but we need to keep within a 75 mile radius, preferably under 75.

Thanks for the suggestions. There's got to be a ton of stuff to do in this area - no one who threatens to leave ever really leaves including me. Trying to unlock the attraction and keep things fresh.

I believe the other one is The Minnow Bucket, and the one owned by Glory Days is called the Trading Post. I just remembered there's another one on the way down to Port Royal, also on the main highway, I think it's Unique Antique. They are all 3 huge. I can spend hours looking around.

I'm drooling just thinking about it! We went to Apple Basket a week or so ago. Honest to God, best time I've had since the last best time I had. We started out with breakfast at Lindas, spent nearly two hours in the store, and ate lunch out on the scenic way home.
