LAUREL, Md. -- Police exchanged gunfire with a man at a local motel on Saturday -- the same man suspected of shooting a District of Columbia police officer on Friday, in a neighborhood near Catholic University.
During the shooting at the motel, a Prince George's County sheriff's deputy was seriously wounded. The suspect is dead. His name has not been released.

The gunfight on Saturday took place inside a room at the Econo Lodge on Washington Boulevard in Laurel. According to police, members of the U.S. Marshal Capital Area Regional Task Force went there around 3:30 a.m. to search for the suspect, who was wanted on several warrants including attempted murder and robbery.

No motel staffers or guests were injured, but the commotion brought some startled guests into the lobby, he said.

Yeah, that's what I would do too. :sarcasm:

Must have been from out of town. Nobody from around here would stay in Laurel after dark in the first place.
