We are thinking about going to the zoo and aquarium Saturday or Sunday. Is it possible to do both, or are they each big enough to spend the whole day at?

The aquarium in D.C. takes about a half hour to tour. So, I'd say it's safe to do both in the same day...The zoo will keep you busy for the rest.

Last weekend we did the DC zoo and the next day the B'more aquarium. I was actually pretty disappointed in the aquarium and the zoo was great! I love the misting stations at the zoo especially with kids! Just make sure you wear comfy shoes when walking.

 Where is it?

In the basement of one of the Treasury buildings (I think).. I know it's in a basement, just not sure of which building.

It's HARD to find, so get directions before heading out to it.

It takes 10 minutes to walk through it, so don't make a special trip JUST to go to the Aquarium.
