Cari and Vrai are right. If she's otherwise happy with their relationship, then why is she making marriage the deal-breaker? Maybe she has Dan Marino Syndrome.

At the same time, why is he not ready for the legal commitment after 18 years? They're married in everything but name. If having that legal commitment is really important to her, then he should at least acknowledge that in a realistic way. These two needed to have a serious conversation about this a long time ago.
