PGPD Death Investigation Ruled Homicide; Metropolitan Police Now Handling Investigation

Prince George’s County Police Homicide Detectives have determined a body that was discovered in the unincorporated area of Bowie on Saturday morning is the victim of a homicide. Detectives have also learned that the victim was killed in the District Of Columbia so the Metropolitan Police Department has taken over the investigation.
On August 17th, at approximately 6:15 am, a brushfire was reported in the 3100 block of Mill Branch Road. The victim was discovered in the brush once the flames were extinguished. The victim was severely burned.
An autopsy conducted on August 18th revealed the victim, an adult female, was suffering from multiple injuries to the body. The manner of death was ruled a homicide.

Through the course of their investigation, detectives determined the woman was killed within the city limits of Washington DC. This is now a Metropolitan Police investigation.
