Do you guys remember back in the day when little was done in public, so getting to first or second base was a big deal on a date? Now they're practically procreating the hallways of the high school. Parents are putting kids on birth control by 14 because "they're going to do it anyway". I'm sure they are, the minute they're alone. They can do all the foreplay in public and its "accepted".

Not that I haven't participated in "dirty dancing". Just not at a high school dance.

A couple years ago we were at my daughter's 8th grade play and afterward Bebe Mama was walking out to her car and here's this kid - the PTA President's daughter, no less - sucking face with some boy in the parking lot, in full view of everyone walking out of the play. Bebe Mama said something to them and they didn't even come up for air.

Man, when I was 13 you better believe I wasn't out necking with my boyfriend in a parking lot, not to mention in front of parents and teachers.

My chicklet would have been pulled away from that boy by the hair and humiliated publicly. Yes - I will be the hated tyrannical mother when my kids get to be teens.

I feel the same way.
It is scary to think about consequences, such as those of the 19 year old boy and 16 year old girl who just killed themselves because their parents did not want them to be together.
