Came home last night from riding the ambulance to find a dead deer in my front yard. Thankfully it was not mangled. Last time this happened years ago there was a web site for St Marys County were you could report them for pick up. I can't seam to find it anymore, does it still exist?

Had a dead deer in my back yard about 15 yrs ago, wife called the county(Calvert) and said we had a dead deer to pick up. Woman asked where was the deer...wife said in our back yard, woman said 'Honey, thats your deer, not ours, bury it'

If it wasn't picked up get a couple bags of lime and completely cover the carcass with the lime. That will reduce the stench and accelerate the decomposition process.

Good, but yack - how would you like to have that job?

Hooray for everyone who does a gross job so I don't have to! I love you to the moon and back!

I'm pretty sure Mike Rowe did an episode of Dirty Jobs on dead animal removal.

Storytime!

October 2019, mid-morning, BANG-BANG!
Called dispatch to report shooting and was told a deer was hit by a car and deputy had to put it down out in front of me and my neighbor's property. Was told that SHA would be out to get it later in the day.
My neighbor didn't appreciate the Get Well Soon balloon I tied to its leg. :sshrug:
Then some sort of work truck pulled up and sawed off its rack. 30 minutes later, SHA was there to retrieve it.
That deer had a really bad day.
My cousin was visiting from Denmark and was taking a nap. She was bummed that she missed the whole show.

A couple years ago we had a deer that must have gotten hit on the main road and made it just far enough to die right at our woodline. Husband and oldest ended up dragging it further into the woods before it started to rot. Last year, we had an opossum get hit right in front of our house. I used a shovel and moved it across the street under some thick bushes. Five minutes later, a buzzard had dragged it back out into the middle of the road. Decided to get a trash bag and scoop it up. Youngest ran it back into the woods.
