Don't get caught. DNR does not play well with those that do so.Does anyone know of someone who buys whitetail deer mounts
Wonder why they would care I harvested the animals and payed for the mounts therefore I would think they have no say what so ever but I guess I am wrong and I never new it was against the law I shall not sell themFor your consideration ...

It's not legal to sell whitetail deer mounts in the State of Maryland. You can give them away, or donate them, but that is it.
Natural Resources 10-404:
(e) Selling or exchange of game bird or mammal taken from wild.-
(1) Except as provided in paragraph (2) of this subsection or § 10-512(a)(2)(ii) of this title, a person may not sell, offer for sale, barter, or exchange, at any time within the State any game bird or game mammal taken from the wild, in the State or in another state, territory, or country.
(2) The prohibitions of paragraph (1) of this subsection do not apply to the:
(i) Meat, pelt, carcass, or mounted specimen of any beaver, coyote, fisher, fox, mink, muskrat, nutria, opossum, otter, raccoon, skunk, or long-tailed weasel legally taken by the person;
(ii) Hide, hair, tail, or feet, excluding a mounted specimen of deer, squirrel, or rabbit legally acquired;
Dunno the reason why. I'm sure there's a history to the restriction, just don't know what it is.Wonder why they would care I harvested the animals and payed for the mounts therefore I would think they have no say what so ever but I guess I am wrong and I never new it was against the law
Maybe something to do with market hunting or, I'm guessing more likely, guys that would buy them to pretend it was "their" deer. Kind of like those who buy waterfowl bands and put them on their call lanyard.For your consideration ...

Does anyone know of someone who buys whitetail deer
Reminds me of my only tagged fish. I was fishing the Chesapeake Light Tower off Va Beach and caught a tagged Spadefish. I got the info off the tag and called it in. A few months later I received a nice patch and a ballcap with a report on the tagged fish's migration. It seems it was tagged the day before I caught it and it had travelled from the southeast corner of the tower to where I caught it on the northeast corner.Maybe something to do with market hunting or, I'm guessing more likely, guys that would buy them to pretend it was "their" deer. As a note, I've waterfowl hunted for over forty years and never, not once, shot a banded bird out of the countless ducks and geese I've gotten. The only band I ever got was from a sparrow that Kamikazied into the kitchen window and broke its neck. And the damned band was too small to fit on my call lanyard.
Back in the 80's I caught a keeper rockfish with a tag and got the same prize my fish was tagged in MassachusettsReminds me of my only tagged fish.
