We live in Dunkirk and were wondering what people’s opinions were of the birthing centers for AAMC vs Calvert? Ive had a couple experiences with Calvert that Im not too fond of, but never with the birthing center. I love AAMC and was just wondering if its worth the extra drive. Thanks for any thoughts!
Deliver at AAMC or Calvert?

I have delivered at both hospitals so if I had to choose it would be AAMC. I had my two oldest there and the youngest at Calvert. Good Luck.
Calvert birthing centers is wonderful
I will say i am not thrilled with the hospital at calvert but will say the birthing center was wonderful i have never seen people go over and beyond there jobs to make sure someone is comfortable and well taken care of then in the birthing center at calvert! I was treated as if i was the only mother giving birth there and had the most wonderful nurses help and care for me and my child no matter what i needed or had questions about they were there to help with out any problems at all i would really recommend the birthing center at calvert.

I had both my children at AAMC and am glad I went there. I toured the Calvert hospital maternity section and it didn't come close to Anne Arundel. But that was about 4 years ago. I doubt it's as nice but I think Calvert was improving at that time.

I delivered my son at Calvert and had a wonderful experience. The staff there is great. My cousin delivered both of her sons at Anne Arrundel and she said she had a great experience there as well.

AAMC is an amazing hospital! I delivered all 3 of our children there and was VERY happy. It gave me peace of mind to deliver at a hospital with a NICU, which Calvert does not have. Cannot recommend them enough.
AAMC is a lovely hospital; however my newborn neice and another baby during the same time picked up a staff infection there. My neice pulled through but the other newborn passed away. I guess it could happen anywhere but it sure was a long hard road to recovery for my neice.

I delivered both of my daughters at CMH (January 2008 and July 2009). I must say that I absolutely LOVED my experience. I know not too many people are thrilled with their other services, but the labor and delivery department is definitely high quality. The nurses are AMAZING and even at full capacity (in January 2008 all the rooms were booked!) they check on you and get you whatever you may need. They are very helpful, understanding, calm and informative...and they make you feel as comfortable as possible! They even made sure my husband was comfortable while he fell asleep...I must say that I would not have children anywhere else!
