I have a Dell Latitude D810 that has a wireless receiver incorporated into it. I recently had to reload WindowsXP on it, and when I did I lost the ability for Windows to find the wireless setup. I used to have a small icon on the lower right side of the screen that showed something like a green, red, or yellow fan shape to indicate signal strength, and that's gone. I think this icon used to ask me if I wanted radio turned on or off. I'm using an external Belkin wireless antenna now, but can anyone tell me how to get the internal one working again? Thanks!

Did you get any cd's with the laptop, such as Dell utility cd's and chipsets? If so you need to install that stuff back onto the computer too. Hope this helps. :howdy:

Yes, you need those cd's because those are the drivers that make utilities such as your centrino wireless capability to function. As soon as you load the drivers, that program should come back up... :howdy:

Thats right Mousebaby.

Same thing happened to mine when the hard drive went. Dell sent me another for no charge but I had to reload all software and the "Dell drivers and utilities" has the wireless driver.

Perhaps you can call or visit there site and search for the driver and download it.

I've downloaded a bunch of drivers and utilities off the Dell website, but apparently not the right one. Anyone know which would be the right one?

Can't help you there unless I'm looking at the laptop. Contact Dell Chat, they can help point you in the right direction. Good luck again!

I contacted Dell support via chat, and they told me which driver I needed. All is well now.
