Scandal-roiled Los Angeles City Councilman Kevin de León has no intentions of resigning from his post, despite growing calls for de León's resignation.


Shouts broke out in Los Angeles City Hall on Tuesday as Kevin de León, the embattled L.A. city councilman, appeared at a council meeting after audio leaked in October of de León making racist remarks with several colleagues.

De León, once described as a "rising star" and "trailblazer" in his party by the Los Angeles Times, is the only city council member involved in the scandal to remain in his post. But calls for de León's resignation continue to mount.

President Biden and virtually every California Democrat have called for de León's resignation since the leaked audio surfaced in October.

"He’s staying and that’s it," a spokesperson for de Leon told Fox News Digital. "He’s made the decision to stay and represent his constituents on the pressing issues facing them."

Tuesday's uproar stemmed from a leaked recording laced with profanity and racist comments from a year-old meeting involving Nury Martinez, Ron Herrera, Gil Cedillo and de León – all Latino Democrats – in which they plotted to expand their political power at the expense of Black voters during a realignment of district boundaries.

This is the chink in the armor of identity politics. It's easy for them to all stick together when the vilify the majority Caucasian population in America. But at some point they end up fighting over the same bread crumbs, within their own party. Don't think for a moment that blacks will sit on the side quietly while hispanics gain more political clout. With a stagnant black population in America being overshadowed by an ever increasing US population that is becoming more hispanic by the day thanks to open borders, expect a high noon showdown soon.

The worst thing the government did was to categorize people by race. They would have been better off just calling everyone an American and leave it at that. Americans are now uber Balkanized by gender, imagined gender, race, heritage, religion, non religion, immigration status, politics, vaccine status, marital status, eye & hair color, handedness, height, weight, toilet roll over or under to name just a few of the various divisions.
