Brace for ‘Unrest’ if Donald Trump Wins, Democrats Warn

Americans should prepare for “unrest’ if former President Donald Trump completes the greatest political comeback in modern American politics, Democrats told the Wall Street Journal on Monday.

The potential for Democrats to perpetrate political violence undermines their narrative that Republicans, and especially the America First movement, are a threat to democracy.

“I think there’ll be some violence. I think there’ll be workplace fights. There’ll be fights at kids’ birthday parties. I think they’ll be protests and will turn violent,” Mark Halperin recently told Tucker Carlson.

Resistance groups, according to the Journal’s Joshua Chaffin and Valerie Bauerlein, believe citizens should be “bracing for unrest” if Trump wins:
Across America, more than a dozen progressives in various positions of influence told The Wall Street Journal that they are dreading the prospect of Trump’s return to power, and dismayed that half the country might see a completely different reality than they see. Some are bracing for unrest. On a recent evening, more than 200 people joined a Zoom meeting titled Mass Training For Women’s Safety Teams—hosted by a Women’s March veteran who noted its timing amid “escalating political violence.”

The "prepper" in me thinks it's prudent to prepare. I can see interruptions in the food and fuel supply. Being winter could make things worse.

We've no real idea if these are idle threats easily squashed by the new admin, or if the threats of the Dems to prevent an elected Trump from taking office actually happen.

"Hope for the best, prepare for the worst."

I'm now in one of the "fly over" states - Southwest Ohio. That vibe doesn't seem to be in the air, but I bet it is very real in DC. My wife and I lived in DC area from 1970 to 1978 and watched as lots of "dummies" interrupted life to say "Hurray for our side". We both were happy that my promotion allowed us to move back to her home town here in Ohio.

About 12 minutes long. He's a prepper, but what I call an urban prepper, not so much of a get yer guns and barricade the door kind of guy.

Translation: "If we don't win the election we'll start rioting and busting up cities all across America, just like we did in 2016."

Again, this is what tear gas is for.

I hope Trump means it when he says he'll send in the NG to restore order when (not if) these people go unhinged and start rioting. Nothing an old fashioned wood shampoo won't fix...

They've been ginned up. What I DON'T get is how they can do this crap, day in, day out and a couple guys try to take a SHOT at him - one of them actually succeeding but only grazing him - and they put their hands in the air and say, hey NOT ME. Not my fault that he's Hitler and people have to kill him.

I don't know if people remember that moment in the Obama Romney debate where - I think it was George Stephanopoulos - asked Mitt about the issue around contraception. And Romney justifiably had that WTF? look on his face. Where the HELL did THAT question come from? I sure don't have a platfrom issue about banning contraception. THEN you pan back to George and HE has that - oops, was I supposed to WAIT on that? Hey guys backstage - did we make that sht up yet? Aw crap - look on his face. Because they were MAKING STUFF UP to smear him.

Same campaign - fellow Mormon Harry Reid comes up with this "he hasn't paid any taxes in ten years" - smirking and acknowledging AFTERWARD that it was a lie - and it worked. "He didn't win, did he?".

Where DID this bullchit about Trump turning into a tyrant come from - and why do people BELIEVE IT? Guys - he WAS President once.

Thing is - a lot of people - when they're being played - they don't know they're being played. Sometimes, not even after.

Now I assume most political commercials and memes - are false. Distortions absolutely, but just high grade bull sht. ALL OF IT. ANY party. I don't base it on what they say in those commercials because when I read up on them - I find they're either complete crap or deliberate distortions.

Now - we've seen it before. Remember how Reagan was going to start a war with Russia? There's always some existential threat that Republicans are going to bring. Bush was going to compel prayer in school. And well, everything was supposed to go to hell when Trump won last time..

It's not that Trump voters are so gullible. Dem voters are like Charlie Brown trying to kick the football - after a thousand attempts. They won't learn.

They might try it just to say, see we told you Trump would turn the military on us .

I'ma tell you what, if Trump wins this election not one single person better challenge it. Questioning election results is treason, remember?

Not one single ****ing person. I will personally volunteer to help round their asses up for the firing squad. :)

I would reply with awesome relevant commentary along the lines of yours, but since you are still a petulant butthurt child, (acting exactly as those you describe), putting me on ignore because of one of my posts well over a year ago, I'll shall refrain.

Yup. How else to get his attention but to quote him? I've replied to questions he posted seeking information of late with specific pertinent and helpful information when he asked for information about something, forget what it was. Being petulant, he never responded. So ....
